A member friend has asked me to prepare his deceased daughters name for The Temple.

The best thing to do, and easiest, is to help him sign into FamilySearch. Since he is a member, this will automatically create his Family Tree entry and probably hers as well. Then have him print the card. This way, there is no need for you to go through the permission process.
Was his daughter a member, also? If so and if the ward clerk properly recorded her death on her membership record, then she should already have a Family Tree person page.
If he doesn't have a computer or printer, have him over to your house and use yours.

Can we please get some sort of automated routine that puts anything that has the word "Temple" right there in the title into the Temple category where it obviously belongs?
Failing that, would a mod be so kind as to move this?

It's 'Brett'.
Just in passing ...
Until, the "Automated Routine", is considered; and, possibly, implemented ...
Can I humbly suggest, that the best course of action, is to use the "Flag" (ie. "Report") feature/facility/function, for such 'Posts', requesting that the post be "Moved", to "FamilySearch Help", under the 'Category' of "Temple".
That is what I do; and, they, do get "Moved".
I believe, that when one does "Flag" (ie. "Report") a 'Post' (and/or, 'Comment'), that goes for "Moderation".
Certainly, BETTER, than making such "Comments', in the particular 'Post'.
Just my thoughts.

ps: MANY Participants, in this Forum, are NEW ... NOT all Participants, in the Forum, are experienced ...
pps: Remember, that 'FamilySearch', was created by the Church, for Members of the Church, to follow the Tenets of the Church; especially, regarding "Temple" Work - and, NOTHING has "Changed" in that regard.
