incorrect/or missing ordinances
Our Temple records show that Susan Reiser's proxy ordinances were completed earlier in 1900 and 1901.
If an ordinance has been completed more than once, FamilySearch will display the earlier ordinance.
The source information for the Baptism and Confirmation are what we call "primary sources" so that is why the 1900 dates show for the Baptism and Confirmation. Unfortunately the source information for the 1901 Initiatory and Endowment is what we call a "secondary source" so FamilySearch displays the first dates with a "primary source" which is the 1940 dates in this case.
Likewise for the Sealing to Spouse. The Sealing was completed earlier in 1903 so FamilySearch displays the 1903 date.
I hope this information is useful to you.
Thank you. I understand it. What I don’t understand is they take a later date on some ordinances when the archive record shows a an earlier date, it seems it’s whatever Family Search wants to call it.0
A later date will show because of the type of source for that ordinance we have in our system.
If an early date has what we call a "secondary source" and a later date has what we call a "primary source", FamilySearch will display the date with the "primary source".
If you have a Stamped Temple Card or Group Sheet we can use that to create a "primary source".
So in those cases where you do find an earlier date and you have a Stamped by the Temple sheet please let us know and we will assist.
