On a state death record, a birthplace without qualifiers would be in the state.

The historical record, in Vermont, says only "Dorset", meaning a Dorset in Vermont: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XF3X-FYK

The salient point being: these census records are returned in searches for UK records and are not returned in searches for United States records.

@dontiknowyou ? Census or death? The search parameter peaking in the screenshot shows United Stat[es] was parameterized? Well that's one way to change immigration history ...

@genthusiast searching on Any [event] = United States is how I finally found this batch of records. The records were a Vermont set and the birthplace was "Dorset". Not "Dorset, England". So, yes, the robe-standardization should be picking the Dorset in Vermont.

That must be a first! I have found numerous occasions when English place names have been standardised to foreign ones but never the other way round. When starting to type a location the foreign ones are always displayed first before the English ones!

@dontiknowyou Sorry this one got lost in the shuffle. Will report the mis-match between birthplace showing in search results and what shows on the record details screen. We are not able to predict how long it will take for engineers to get it fixed.
