Elmer Ecker under wrong father
Elmer Ecker ID # L1XX-3Y born 23 Apr 1875 and Died 20 June 1900 is found under Lorenzo Ecker LRHF-4QV 1843-1926 AND under Henry W Ecker KHK5-L28 837-1903 with ID # K4VZ-TQH born 1875.
Lorenzo and Henry are brothers. Henry W. Ecker is my great great grandfather. The ordinance work for Elmer is done for ID # K4VZ-TQH but there are some ordinance reservations for his ID# L1XX-P3Y by a person I do not know.
I believe Elmer listed under by Grandfather is wrong. I do not have that information in my journal of my great great grandfather Henry. But I do believe he is the son of my Great Great Uncle Lorenzo.
How can this be fixed??? and what do I need to do? I was updating our family info to take to the temple when I discovered this problem and hope we can fix it someway??

Hi Judy,
I have struggled to understand all the details you have given and wonder if you could clarify some of them for me. Elmer Ecker L1XX-P3Y is indeed found as a son of Lorenzo Ecker LRHF-4QV. Both of these have all of their ordinances completed - Elmer having baptism and confirmation completed on 21st August 2000 at Ogden, and his endowment and sealing to parents completed on 14th March 2001, also at the Ogden temple.
Henry W Ecker KHK5-L28 is shown as a brother of Lorenzo LRHF-4QV, and his ordinances are complete as well. The second reference you have given for Elmer - K4VZ-TQH is for Guy Laypard Ecker, b 1873, a son of Henry W Ecker, and his ordinances are complete also.
If you have any of your ancestors with incorrect parents or children. I have attached a Knowledge Article to help you correct the relationship. You can find it by clicking on the URL or copying it and pasting it into your browser.https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-correct-parent-child-relationships-in-family-tree
Hope this helps.

After sending my question I realized that by merging Elmer Ecker and removing the wrong parents from his record, his record is now ok. I guess we will always have duplicate ordinance work done on people. Sadly whomever has reserved ordinance work for Elmer Ecker really doesn't have to do anything but maybe they will go back and see that?
