Her name if Bernice (Bronislawa) Urbanek born in Galicia, Austria (sometimes listed in records as Poland) in 1896. KZCF-F6K

Any informsation on the family would be appreciated, especially name of parents.

According to this 1915 Massachusetts marriage record, Bronislawa Urbanek, born 1896 in Galicia, Austria, was the daughter of Simon Urbanek and Tecla Niysek.

Over the years, in the USA, you will see different locations stated for Galicia in the census. The instructions to census enumerators were to use the current designation. When borders changed due to wars, the name of that area - and many others - changed several times.

Below please find birth list of all Urbaneks born from 1885 up to 1906. Tekla Urbanek born Guzek , widow of Szymon passed away on the 17 dec 1906 in Odrzykon. This info was given to me today by the Registry Office that Odrzykoń belongs to. No info about Szymon's death. Did he immigrate with his children ?

There are columns for the names of parents, but no information there. I would love to be able to go further and obtain the information on my grandmother's parents Szymon Urbanek and his wife Tekla Guzek. Are you able to assist there?

It appears that my maternal grandmother Bronislawa Urbanek born in Odrzykon Poland in 1895 came to the U.S. at the age of 17 years in 1912. Her father Szymon died in the U.S. in 1905 and her mother Tekla Guzek died in 1906 in Odrzykon Poland. That would make my grandmother 11 years old without parents. Family lore said that she was put in a convent and ran away because she did not want to become a nun. Is there any way of confirming this?

Any help that you might be able to provide would be appreciated.

In attempt to find out more about Szymon's and Tekla ancestry the only way is to conntact the parish in Odrzykon that has relevant registers because only indices to marriage records are avaialble on-line.

I have found the priest has an opinion of being helpful . Usually it helps if a message is written in Polish.
