Source Linker has parents reversed

Trying to "link" the parents of James Talmadge Wood Sr. (LL34-Z8R) in the marriage document, but the Source Linker has his parents in reverse order.

L.V. Wood is Laura Virginia (Cox) Wood (mother) and is attached as his father

R.A. Wood is Richard Albert Wood (father and is attached as his mother

The "EDIT" button is turned off, therefore I am not able to fix this.

you can switch the incorrect parents order. this is the Knowledge article that explains how to do this.

By default, in the pedigree landscape view, the name of a male spouse or parent appears above the name of the female spouse or parent. In portrait view, the male name appears to the left of the female name. Structuring the couple relationship this way affects how the rest of the family line displays. In landscape view, paternal lines move diagonally upward; maternal lines, by contrast, move diagonally downward.

In male-female relationships, you can only adjust this arrangement if the male name appears below the female name. You can only switch one way.

You can change the arrangement for **** relationships, or in relationships where a female would traditionally display in the male's position.

In the landscape view, for example, you can choose which spouse or parent to list on top and which to list on the bottom. In portrait view, you can choose which spouse or parent to situate on the left and which to situate on the right.

    Steps (website)

    1. Navigate to the Person page of one of the spouses.
    2. Scroll down to the Family Members box.
    3. Click the pencil icon on the right of the box containing the couple relationship or the parent-child relationship.
    4. Under Tools, click Switch Spouse Positions.
    5. Enter your reason for the change of positions, and then click Save.

The parents are in the correct order on the website. The focus person needs to shift.

@Gene Toler, since the parents' sexes were not indexed (unsurprisingly, given that they only have initials), Source Linker is listing them alphabetically. You can still link them up correctly, without needing to change anything in either the indexed record or the Tree.

First, on the left-hand side, click "Change" and choose one of the parents as the new focus person on the record.

Then, on the right-hand side, click "Change" and choose the same parent as the focus person on the tree.

Your people will be lined up and ready to get the record attached:

See: https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/session/tips-and-tricks-for-attaching-hints for a well presented and thorough review of working in Source Linker. This exact scenario is covered as are pretty much every other situation you might run into there.
