Why can't you print out a continuous line of ancestors all the way back to early times.

I am trying to print out something that goes from my mother's side ALL the way back to early times. I do not want to just have a fan chart because there are others included in her history. There should be some way to do this at this point in time when there are so many ancestors we can trace. I am not again manually doing this, but there is no template to be able to go so far back. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

well there is a "view my relationship" option that you can call from any distant ancestor

its similar to what you describe.

what do you define as "early times"

going back 20 or so generations we have over 1 millions ancestors . . . you would have to pick one from the one million and then choose the "view my relationship" on the profile record for that person.

that lets you see the names generation by generation form you to that person.

but other than the paternal line and maternal line - - there is not always a simple way to keep track and visually see all your ancestors 20 generations back.

again what do you consider "early times"?

    @Dav-1

When you say "ALL the way back" how many generations are you talking about?

You say you do not want a fan chart "because there are others included in her history". What do you mean by this - people who are not her direct ancestors?

Family Tree does not have a wide range of print options. You will probably need a third party solution. Take a look at the Solutions Gallery. Something there may help.

I am talking about many, many generations including Grandmother's ancestors, etc. The fan chart does not include any maternal ancestors on their sides of the family. Thank you.

what does "Many many" mean?? 10, 20, 30??

After 20 generations you have over one million direct ancestors (assuming no duplicate lines) (how do you envision seeing 1 million people on one chart?)

if you position yourself as the base person - the fan chart will show both YOUR Paternal and Maternal ancestors.

but you can choose any person to be the base person of the chart.

as an example This is a fan chart of my father:

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/fanchart/KWH7-N5T

it shows both his father's(paternal) line and his mothers lines

I can also do the same for my mother.

I can also do the same for MYSELF as the home person and it will show the ancestors of both my father and mother on the same chart. ( but I cant share the link for the chart of myself since security prevents you seeing living persons (me in this case) )
