Deleting

Because this is a single, shared and open-edit endeavor (much like Wikipedia), most things can't simply be deleted. The only exceptions are profiles that you entered that nobody else has touched.
But don't worry, all mistakes can be fixed! There are two broad categories of changes that you can make: changes to profiles (including merging with other profiles), and changes to relationships between profiles. When things are so messed up that people throw up their hands and want to start over, it usually means that the relationships are wrong. Once you get them sorted by moving profiles around like puzzle pieces, the correct picture will emerge, and you'll feel much better. :-)

FamilySearch Family Tree is a single collabortaive database we all share.
People don't have their own "private trees" like they do in Ancestry.
