Why do your engineers enjoy complicating what use to be so simple?

Once you could get feedback concerning Family Tree that needed no discussion about common questions or hunting for the hidden fields to ask questions about people in Family Tree. Now, engineers so enarmored with their technology exploit us common ordinary folk with their complicated camouflage.

Is this the field where I can get feedback directly from those that know and avoid all the chit-chat that camouflages it? If so, why has not the reservation of the sealing of Agustas Martin Cranford to his parents since 1917 been released? And do we have to wend our way through the camouflage to ask permission to get it released, or is it supposed to be released automatically after a dog's age?

    Not 1917, but 2017

Have you tried to message the user who has this ordinance reserved and ask them to release it?

    Gary

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    Just for starters ...

    Just for future reference ...

IF, you have any, 'Questions'; and/or, Problems/Issues (such as this post), pertaining to "Temple" Work; THEN, the appropriate place to submit such, in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is in the 'Category' of "Temple", under "FamilySearch Help".

Here is the direct link to that 'Category' for "Temple" ( Work ):

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat, for future reference.

ps: Just so that you are aware ...

A "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" ( Personnel ) ], in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, will be able to take this post of yours, into the Workings, of 'FamilySearch' "Support", to help/assist you directly.

    Gary

    Furthermore ...

    In relation, to the individual/person Agustas Martin CRANFORD ( LRBC-5G7 ) ...

[ And, the "Temple" Work; especially, that of "SP" ... ]

Please be, aware; and, advised ...

That "Reservations", for "Temple" Work, ARE being AUTOMATICALLY extended, by the "System", DUE to the worldwide "COVID-19" Pandemic.

That AUTOMATICALLY extension, is said, to CONTINUE; until, ALL "Temples", around the World, are able to operate on "Phase 4" Conditions = NO "Restrictions".

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

What happens to my ordinance reservation during the COVID-19 outbreak?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/what-happens-to-my-ordinance-reservation-during-the-covid-19-outbreak

I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective.

    Plus ...

Further to; and, in support of, the 'Question', that 'Amy, asked ...

Someone has reserved an ordinance that I want to do

I hope, that this may also help/assist, somewhat.

    Gary

    Finally ...

Just in case, you were not aware ...

The Programmers/Engineers, DID NOT, complicate things ...

Things have just "Changed", somewhat ...

There was, the unfortunate 'Demise', of the 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case Management System, Early LAST Year; as, the Company, who 'Developed'; and, 'Owned', the Software, Platform, of the particular Case (Management) System, that 'FamilySearch' WAS using, may have, 'pulled the pin'; or, made a "Change" in policy, that forced 'FamilySearch' OUT; and, with no alternate "System" readily available, 'FamilySearch' "Support", was included, in this existing "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

The "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was originally established, a number of Years ago, on the premise of:

    User/Patrons, HELPING / ASSITSING, Users/Patrons ...

And, has been operating, quite successfully, that way, for a number of Years ...

The "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, has now been expanded, to include; and, work with, 'FamilySearch' "Support".

The addition, of 'FamilySearch' "Support", into this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, has increased, both, the STRENGTH; and, the DEPTH, of this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

"Moderators" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" ( Personnel ) ], can take posts, in this Forum, into the Workings, of 'FamilySearch' "Support", if one would like to keep things somewhat "Private" (which, is quite understandable and acceptable); where, they will communicate with one privately and directly via/through, either, "User Messaging" in 'FamilySearch' (or, 'Messaging" in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum); OR, directly by "E-mail".

    As an aside ...

You can STILL contact 'FamilySearch' "Support" DIRECTLY via/through either, the "Telephone"; and/or, "Live" ('On-Line') "Chat"; and/or, even "E-mail", depending on where you live in the World; but, the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is now where 'FamilySearch' "Support" ALSO operates.

Here is a "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

    Contact Us

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/contact-us

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/contact-us

Again, I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue.
