When will "Map My Ancestors" be available for Windows?

Does anyone know when "Map My Ancestors" will be available for Windows?

I'm not sure anyone will be happy with an automatic mapping function. There are all kinds of issues and differences of opinion on place names (will the map use the standardized event place, or what's in the place of xxx - birth, residence, death, etc.?). Will it process historic place names, such as Louisville, British Colonial Virginia and hundreds of other extinct places all over the world? And then what about indexing errors? Some cannot be corrected. Check out the marriage source below. My two ancestors lived in Knox County Indiana Territory in 1810, and apparently popped themselves over to Knox, Marshall Islands for a beach wedding and quick honeymoon before popping back to Indiana Territory. It's the perfect place for a honeymoon, because even today, Knox, Marshall Islands completely uninhabited. The edit function is grayed out, so honeymoon location remains Marshall Islands.

Do you not see how riddled with real errors as well as perceived errors (Hey! Louisville is in Kentucky!) such a mapping function would be?

I'm not sure if it will be available on the web browser. It is an app feature because it uses the location services of the mobile device to fully function. It shows you where you are currently physically located and can show you if any of your ancestors and/or their children within 6 generations had a vital event in that location.

@Eileen Lund-Johnson, I see that you would like to know when the website will have the feature of Map My Ancestors. FamilySearch does actually have that feature, it is just called something different than on the app. Please go to familysearch.org and sign in and in the menu bar at the top of the page you will see "Activities." When you click on that you will see activities listed. Click on the top one, "Where Am I From?" You will now be able to see what is seen on the phone app.
It will give you a little more to look at and pare down. At the bottom you can click on the number of generations. I hope that you enjoy this feature.

The "Map My Ancestors" feature on the app and the "Where Am I From" feature on the web browser are two different tools.
The "Map My Ancestors" works with the location services of the mobile device and lets you see who from your family tree within 6 generations is in that area that you are physically in. So, I'm currently in Utah, lets say I go to Florida for a visit. The app will tell me if anyone within 6 generations (ancestors and their children) was born, married, died, or buried near my physical location in Florida.
The "Where Am I From" tool does not do this. "Where Am I From" maps 8 generations of ancestors only and shows on the map the location of their birth.

@Amy Archibald, I see what you are referring to. I hadn't used it quite like that before. Thank you! At any rate, I love the app and I love the Where Am I From. The grandchildren love to look at it and talk about our ancestors. Thanks again for teaching others looking at this thread.
