Birth records - should one also index the parents' dates of birth etc.?

On birth records, there are sometimes also other details given: the date of birth of one or more of the parents, the dates of birth of their previous children, or the parents' date of marriage. Should these be indexed (as additional entries)? If so, would this be a general rule of indexing or would this only apply to certain record sets?

The general rule is that we only index the requested fields for the primary individual of the recorded event. A special project instruction would tell us if we created additional entries for other events that may be listed on the record. Here is a help center article about indexing information in the margins, or other information that might be included about relatives.
