How to unseal
My mother's temple work was done for her PRIOR to her death. Still, no news from the Temple, (I reported to Denver Temple).
Also, she was sealed to a spouse that she should not be sealed to.
I'm her only direct relative, (daughter), along with two non-member siblings.
Please help.
Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for posting your question on FamilySearch Community. You don't give any indication of when this happened or how long you have waited for a response from the temple. As far as I know the temples don't have the power to cancel sealings. If you compare it to sealings performed for the living, they usually have to go to the First Presidency to be cancelled. We should also remember that agency is an eternal principle of the gospel and exists through all phases of our existence. Not only do all those who have been blessed to have vicarious ordinances performed in one of our temples need to be worthy to receive them, but they also have the ability to accept or reject them. They are not necessarily bound by them just because we on this side of the veil have performed them. In the same way we are not forced to have them performed for us while on the earth. We get to choose to get baptised, confirmed, be ordained to the priesthood, be sealed for time and all eternity, etc., etc. I don't know if this brings you any comfort at all. I will try to refer your question to a specialist team who will be able to advise you further. In the meantime, be patient and prayerful. The Lord is aware of your predicament and will bless you in His own way and time. Can you private message me and I will advise you of the additional information we will need from you to assist you in this.
Kind Regards,
John L. Kennedy

Sorry, I didn't read your question carefully enough. If your Mother was sealed PRIOR to her passing then she must have attended a temple to do that. (Presumably the Denver Temple.) Did you attend the temple with her? I don't understand how she could have been sealed to a spouse she didn't want to be sealed to. I will refer your question to a specialist team who should be able to help but they will need more information to do that.
Kind Regards,
John L. Kennedy.

How can this happen? Mistakes happen. People can be careless. Someone can easily enter a living person in Family Tree and mark that person deceased. They do it all the time. The Permission Required block is a fairly recent update in Family Tree. In the past a distant cousin could find that "deceased" living person, just ignore the 110 year rule, print a card and complete proxy work for that living person. It is completely invalid, of course, and will be canceled and removed from Family Tree as soon as it makes it to the right department. @John L. Kennedy , I'm glad you have taken responsibility to make sure it gets to the right people and gets taken care of.
This is somewhat related to people ignoring the directions of our church leaders in regards to who we should reserve temple work for. Not too many years ago someone reserved work for my wife's 95 year old deceased grandfather. We caught it before any work was actually done, contacted her, and got her to release the reservation. Turned out she was not any kind of relative of all. It was just that her daughter was on a mission in Norway and doing temple work for random Norwegians made her feel part of her daughter's mission.
