James George Forrest 9733-KBF My name is Joy Fitton, I am helping my friend Valerie Klemasz(nee Forrest) she is the great granddaughter of Thomas Forrest KJR9-G56 who's son is James George Forrest.

Its seems that this persons ordinance may not be available because he had a prison record regarding - manslaughter.

In the sources on his page I have incuded a news paper report of the accident where it outlines his part in an accident. It seems he was not at his post to check the line when the train came through. It being a known problem part of the track. The came came through and was de-railed. No passengers were harmed and the driver went to hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. Much later it seems the driver died of blood poisoning due to mishandeling in the hospital. James George received 6 months gail. "He manifested a keen appreciation of his re sponsibility in connection with what had occurred, and manfully accepted the con sequence of his neglect of duty. All this, joined with the consideration that he bore an excellent character and was one of the best trusted employes in the railway service"

His obituary shows..

The Dandenong Journal (Vic. : 1927 - 1954) Thu 22 Mar 1928 Page 5

The death of Mr. James Forrest, of "Lochinvar," Foster-street, Dandenong, took place at his residence on Thursday. Deceased, who was 70 years of age, had not been in good health for some time past, but his death was a painful surprise to his many friends. He was an employee of the Railway Department for many years, and formerly a prominent member of the Dandenong Caledonian Society, for which he was secretary until three years ago. Deceased, who was held in very high esteem by all with whom he was acquainted, was 70 years of age, and leaves a widow.
