the image shows that the Race column was left blank, but the Indexers have made them all White.
This could be why the page displays, then goes blank, then displays, then goes blank, sits there forever with a whirly circle. It's feeling embarrassed. It displayed OK until I saw this little problem and went to report it here.

Thank you for your questions regarding the indexing of this 1860 U S Census record.
While the indexer and reviewer should technically have marked the Race field as Blank, I am posting a Snip of the Census image showing what is most likely the reason they indexed everyone on this page as White.
The tallies at the bottom of the page show that all of the individuals listed on the page, both male and female are white. There are 23 males and 17 females listed on the document.

It is most likely, that the "indexers", DID, in fact, mark the "Field"; as, "Blank" ...
But ...
That Said ...
That was, most probably, later "Overwritten", by the "System"; BEFORE, the "Index" was actually "Uploaded'.
Due to the aforementioned ...

I don't know who tolerates racism in this companies offices, but please, be mature and don't bring it here; Stop assuming my family is "african-american" without proof. From my parents back, on my fathers' side, are all 'choctaw' Indian and I need you to revert all the unnecessary changes you made. Purposely whitewashing and contorting history has been done for way too long. Tikba ihiya mih k issa. Stop doing that. Feel free to call your own relatives "african-american", not mine. So issa, micha chi haklo la chike.

I know of no instance where the computer 'corrects' fields unless you consider ignoring capitalizations and punctuation is correcting. The computer does do that unless instructed specifically by a contract to include them.

This really isn't a problem for indexing. I don't know from the post that we can assume this was a "computer or system" that made the change. Could it be another researcher who made the change in the shared tree? No one is "white-washing" or changing anyone's history through indexing. We type what we see.
I have spent a lot of time indexing old records where the race column is written as W, C, B, N, M or White, Colored, Black, Negro or Mulatto. We copy exactly what is written on the document. Subtle differentiations become quite apparent when the race column will show both colored and black on the same documents. This is especially true in the slave records.
The history of the Choctaw and the Five Tribes, and their role as slave owners is complex. I have read that by the 1830's more than 3000 African-Americans lived amongst the tribes. By the start of the Civil War, more than 8000 people were enslaved in Indian Territory (14% of the population). Former slaves also lived as free people among the tribes. Other interesting topics for study are the treaties with the southern Indian Nations prior to and after the Civil War and the plight of the Choctaw Freedmen and their ancestors which continues today. The internet provides us with amazing educational opportunities to read the actual documents and come to our own conclusions regarding our history.
Indexing not only helps with Family History, but, it also can expand our minds and lead us to study and learn the history of the world.
