"Feature not available"

When I try to look at a possible duplicate, do a merge or even find someone else using the ID, I get a message across the whole screen saying, "This feature is not available in your location." I have been using FamilySearch for years (from England) with no problems at all but now most of what I want to do appears to be blocked by this message. I cannot make any progress if I cannot consider duplicates. This problem has been going on for weeks.

I believe this type of error is most likely caused by some type of security software, such as a pop-up blocker.

Responses from the community have been very helpful. Thank you very much. As it happened, I was about to have my laptop's hard drive replaced (unconnected to this problem), so I asked for the Norton Anti-Track add-on to be removed, suspecting (as a result of these responses) that it might have caused the problem; it had been added only recently. Once it had been removed, the problem was solved!
