IGI Batch Numbers

I noticed in the help area there is information on how to access the IGI Batch Numbers, but for many accounts this does not work. I am wondering why, since it doesn't show actual images. The research wiki didn't have any ansers of why nonmembers (or even members sometimes) can not access it. I was helping someone who had been using it for years on FamilySearch and all of a sudden he gets the answer "No results found".

There have recently been other issues raised connected to IGI Batch Numbers. Other users have had the same experience as you, but this generally appears related to the type of account you are using. If you are using a public account, you will definitely find a search on certain batch numbers will not produce any results. However, logging into a Church account will probably give you the ones anticipated.

As an example, many records contained in the “England and Wales Births and Christenings, 1538-1975” collection (which contains many IGI records) are now only available to view by those with LDS accounts - although it has been suggested you might be able to see these records (via a public account) if you are using the computers at a Family History Centre.

We have been used to there being restricted viewing in relation to image-only collections, but indexed collections now appear to increasing affected by restrictions, too (depending on type of account or your location).
