Help finding a specific KA re: grandchild reserving a grandparent

There was a KA that clearly stated that a grandchild could reserve the work of a grandparent who was born within the last 110 years without getting the permission of a close living relative (spouse, adult child, parent, sibling). I cannot find that KA. Can anyone give me the KA# and title? I could be wrong and maybe I read that instruction elsewhere?

    Chas

    It's 'Brett'.

    Just in passing ...

    I remember such ...

    [ Like you, I have NOT been able to find, ANY reference, to "Grandchild", in relation to that, of late ... ]

    But ...

    That Said ...

    And, I stand corrected, if I am wrong ...

    I believe, that of a "Grandchild", was "Removed", from "Knowledge Articles"; as, being a "Close Living Relative".

    Hence, WHY, we CANNOT, find such, any longer ...

    Just my thoughts.

    @Brett .

    I’m pretty sure Ron Tanner has made such a statement in the past but I know I read it somewhere. The statement was clear and removed all ambiguity and it was written. As I remember it, grandchild was an exception to the general Close Relative permission rule.

    "Grandchildren can request the ordinances for their deceased grandparents. Grandchildren still need permission from a close living relative. Grandchildren do not fill out the permission form."

    @Amy Archibald

    So, Grandchildren still need permission from a close living relative? I guess I misread or maybe misheard a Ron Tanner statement? So they only ask for permission from the close relative, but I am not sure how they avoid filling out the permission form when they go to reserve the ordinance?

    Chas

    'Yes'; and, I remember there WAS something in "Writing', in a "Knowledge Article" (or, the like).

    I have 'seen' this of late ...

    How do I request ordinances for an ancestor who was born in the last 110 years?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-request-ordinances-for-an-ancestor-who-was-born-in-the-last-110-years

    Where, it states, among other things:

    Quote

    ------------------

    A close living relative can be an undivorced spouse, an adult child, a parent, or a sibling.

    and ...

    Grandchildren can request the ordinances for their deceased grandparents. Grandchildren still need permission from a close living relative. Grandchildren do not fill out the permission form.

    @Chas Howell

    They can click on the permission link and it just reserves it for them. They don't have to fill out the permission form. So, they could not ask permission and still get the reservation. However, the instruction is to still obtain permission so not to cause problems with living family members.

    At one time Ron said something along of the lines of grandchildren don't need permission, yet they cannot grant permission. They don't need to fill out the permission form. They should still ask for permission from a close living relative.

    Thanks, @Amy Archibald and @Brett .

    Maybe it would be helpful if FS used the word "Permission" for asking the Close Relative and the word Approval for the FS part after you get Permission rather than using Permission for both events?
