Sealing to Parents ordinance query

When a sealing to parents ordinance shows as completed but does not indicate the name of the parents, can the sealing, with parents names be redone? My "Ancestors with Tasks" showed a green icon by the name of the son, yet his ordinance is shown as completed with out any parents names attached.

    Andrea

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    ------------------

    Question:

Is the "Sealing to Parents" DONE; but, NO Parents, just a "Blue" 'Box' with:

This sealing-to-parents ordinance is valid. The parents are not listed either because of privacy or because they do not match the parents listed in Family Tree. Click here for more information.

On the 'right-hand-side' of the "Ordinance" page/screen

and, yet, ANOTHER "Sealing to Parents" WITH Parents, that is available to "Request"?

    ------------------

IF, such is the case; THEN ...

Often, such is the result of a 'wayward' "Merge"/"Combine"; where, the Parents, were NOT "Merged"/"Combined" correctly - it happens - a lot ...

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    For starters ...

Here are a couple of "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

Why doesn't the sealing-to-parents ordinance list the parents?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/why-doesnt-the-sealing-to-parents-ordinance-list-the-parents

A child's sealing-to-parents ordinance is done. Family Tree still shows a green temple icon or the status "Request".

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/a-childs-sealing-to-parent-ordinance-is-done-family-tree-still-shows-a-green-temple-icon-or-the-status-request

    So ...

    That Said ...

Try and track back, through the "ChangeLog(s)", of the, Child; and, Parents, to 'see', if you can find the missing/wayward ORIGINAL Parents; and, "Merge"/"Combine" then, with the current Parents.

    Good Luck.

I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; plus, an avenue to pursue.

    Andrea

I just hope, that what I provided was able to help/assist you.

    And ...

I also hope, that you were able to sort it out; as, they can be tricky/complicated, at times.
