Articles on detaching relationships should add advice to remove wrong sources at same time

Even with my years of experience of removing spouses / children from family relationships I often come close to forgetting to remove the inapplicable source(s) on which the "Add child" or "Add spouse" action was probably originally based.

I just checked the existing articles on detaching a child / spouse from a relationship and there is no mention of removing the inapplicable sources at the same time. Obviously, these should be detached from individuals to whom they do not apply, regardless of whether the correct individual(s) to whom they actually do apply can be identified at the time.

A shame there can't be some sort of pop-up, during the detachment process, to ask, "Have you removed any wrongly attached sources, too?"

    I would add to that if you can be reminded about the facts in other information which are added when things are merged. Alternate names, census and residence data that is not accurate if you are unmerging 2 individuals. The record needs to be cleaned up after you separate individuals whether they be due to bad sources or other reasons.

    @Cindy Hecker

    Thank you for reminding me of that. I don't know why I overlooked the problem as also applying to the items that populate the Other Information section (alternate names, residence, etc.) as naturally I have had experience of this, too. When other users haven't removed this detail from the person it did not apply to, it is often easy to pick up - especially when there are two residences shown (carried across from census records) for the same year.

    My main request is for FamilySearch to amend the current articles on detaching relationships, to show not only the relationship itself but all the detail that does not apply to that record should be removed - including discussions and notes, of course.
