Any Exceptions for Performing Temple Work for Deceased Live Long Friend With No Living Relatives?

Arlene Dale Oheling past away January 13, 2021 G4BK-952. She is a life long friend of my mother's. Arlene never married, brother never married and parents and aunt past away. There is no one to contact about receiving permission. I read the information about doing temple work for a deceased friend. Are there any exceptions?

Knowledge article #926, "Can I request proxy temple ordinances for a friend?" seems pretty clear, "If your deceased friend has no close living relatives that can provide written permission, then a request cannot be granted."
I suppose you could contact FamilySearch directly and make your case, https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/contact-us
One thing you can do is to keep working on her family in Family Tree like you have done and try to push her line beyond her 4 generations. In due time there will be those who are distantly "related" who can assist.
