I can not locate the 1840 Census record for Johnson County, Indiana for George Hunt, ID - MK7D-7VM, is it possibly indexed incorrectly?

I have a copy of the census record I got at the library when I used Ancestry.com. I have tried searching for other people listed on the page and none of them are listed, not sure how else to find it.

The record is indexed as George Hunt: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XHBV-TCS but the place is an issue.

Even if it a record is indexed incorrectly, you can find it with the information you have from the image you retrieved from Ancestry.

You can find the same roll of film from the details in the Ancestry source citation and browse to that film on FamilySearch.

@N Tychonievich this looks like another one for placename correction. Original place is Johnson, Indiana, but it's been converted to Johnson, Kane, Utah. Thank you!

@Brenda J. Hunt This thread may help. https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/112227/place-name-corrector#latest

The mod I tagged in my reply has undertaken to report the problems to the proper parties for review and, we hope, eventual correction.

So does this mean it gets corrected? Or will this continue to say Utah?

@Brenda J. Hunt Thank you for reporting the problem. We will add it to the exisiting engineering ticket for correction inaccurate place standardizations. We are not able to predict how long it will take for all of these to get corrected.
