FamilySearch's list of standardized names.

How is this accessible and why is it not part of Search as autocomplete. One pet peeve I have is not having Toronto, Ontario, Canada shown as Toronto, Ontario, Canada. How do I see what FamilySearch uses for this and many other places? If I type in "New York" in Place field, is this recognized or must I know the other parts?

I know FamilySearch is a collection of data from many sources but at least if it uses some standard names, it's a starting point.

    @macalter

    FYI

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    'Yes' not easy to find ...

    Appears on most pages/screens, down the bottom, under "Site Map" https://www.familysearch.org/site-map

    And, Core Products ---> Historic Records ---> Places ...

    Being: "Research/Places" ... the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch':

    https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/

    https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/

    I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

    I did find the list. Only wish FamilySearch used in as an auto complete field when doing searches. Could mean the difference of finding or not finding a record. I'm never certain how much to enter of the place name.
