How can I share new names "with the temple" when my 300 limit has been reached?

I have reached my limit of 300 names and my family is working on them constantly. However, when I find a new name to submit for temple work, meaning "Share it with the temple" right off the bat, I am unable to even reserve it for the temple because my limit stops me. This is very frustrating and will reduce the number of names that can be done at all.

Thank you for your desire to provide saving ordinances for your deceased family. It’s wonderful to have family members who can attend the temple & help complete ordinances.

You might consider letting some of those family members reserve those names. You may only be to add 300 lines to your own temple list, but that is also true for each one of the people helping you complete the names on your own list.

These numbers may not apply to your exact situation but let’s look at a family group consisting of a husband & wife, 2 children (and their spouses), and 4 grandchildren, each able & willing to attend the temple. That adds up to 10 people who each can reserve 300 lines on their own temple list, for 3, 000 lines.

Of course, as this family attends the temple and completes ordinances, the numbers of persons on each list will drop so new names can be added.

You might also have relatives who are unable to attend the temple personally, but who can help by researching your shared family lines & addling up to 300 lines, which they then share with family, friends, or the temple.

The ability to work together to achieve family history goals is such a rich blessing, and I’m thankful for the many ways our current processes enable more people to participate & enjoy the blessings that come with service.

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    [ And, I happen to be a Member o the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    You are not alone ...

This is a NEW dilemma, for many Members of the Church ...

Especially, with the NEW x300 LIMIT of "Reservations" ...

The ONLY direction/suggestion, that can currently be made, is the OBVIOUS ...

    Like it or not ...

[ And, please excuse my directness; as, MANY of us are in the 'same boat' ... ]

REDUCE, your List, of "Reservations" (by whatever means possible), to UNDER / LESS than, the x300 LIMIT.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

The REAL problem/issue is, that one CANNOT (ie. WILL NOT be able to) IMMEDIATELY, "Share" those that one has REENTLY "Unreserved" (ie. "Released"); UNTIL, one's List is UNDER / LESS than the x300 LIMIT.

In such case, it is a matter of making a "Note"/"Record", of ALL those, that one has had to "Unreserve" (ie. "Release"), to get under the x300 LIMIT.

And, then, individually, "Share", each one, in turn, with the "Temple System".

    So ...

    That Said ...

Hopefully, the "Temple Committee"; the "Temple Department"; and, 'FamilySearch', just MAY be working on a way around; and, the ability to "Share [ Directly ] with the Temple System", if one's List of "Reservations" has 'MAXED OUT'.

We can but live in hope.

    Just my thoughts.

I know, that this certainly does not help/assist.

    Brett
