Is the place name a city or a township?

The City field help says "Index municipalities in this field." So does the Township Field Help. Indexing Operations should have a look at this, because that isn't very helpful!
A municipality is a city or a town. A Township in Canada appears to be the same as a township in the USofA. This really has never been explained when it comes to indexing. But, a Township is larger than a town/city/village and smaller than a County.
I would index Aylmar in the City field because the form says Municipality, as opposed to the example for Townships where the form has a header of Township.
You can always do a quick search of the internet. Aylmar is a town in Elgin County, Ontario. It is surrounded by Malahide Township. There are currently 200 townships in Ontario. However, there were more - including Oakland shown in the township example.
