I have used my smart phone to add memories to family tree but now they are being deleted after a while. What am I doing wrong or omitting? How can I stop them from being deleted? It's going to take me many hours to replace them!!!

    Hi Kaye

There are 11 photos in your "Recently Deleted" folder on the left side of the Gallery. Maybe that is what you are looking for, You have 120 days to restore them to your Gallery if you wish. Here's how:

A deleted memory stays in the Recently Deleted folder for 120 days. You can restore a deleted photograph, audio file, or written story quickly and easily by using either the FamilySearch website or the Memories mobile app.

    Steps (website)

    1. While signed in on the FamilySearch website, click Memories.
    2. Click Gallery.
    3. Click Recently Deleted.
    4. Click the memory that you want to restore.
    5. Click Actions.
    6. Click Move to My Memories.

    Steps (mobile app)

    1. In the Memories mobile app, display your recently deleted memories
      • Android: In the top left corner, tap the three lines, followed by Recently Deleted.
      • Apple iOS: In the bottom right corner, tap the three dots, followed by Recently Deleted.
    2. Tap the Select.
    3. Tap Select Memories.
    4. Tap each memory that you would like to restore.
    5. Tap the three dots.
    6. Tap Restore Memories.

    I hope this helps.

    @Kaye17

Thank you for your question in the Community about photos you added to memories via your smart phone. We used your Helper Information to access your Family Tree, and investigate. We found two photos that were uploaded today. One has two male individuals in it, and the other has a child with a hat on. Neither of these have been tagged. We also found a story added today, and several stories you contributed yesterday. We surmise that your photos have not been deleted. Please let us know if we are in error.

were you able to find our lost items?

In theory you are the only one that can delete one of your photos (other than items deleted for inappropriate content)

chances are they are not deleted - just that you are not finding them in the place you are looking.
