My ancestor surname is Girl. How do I fix that.

    Can I assume that you know the ancestor's name?

    If so go to the Person's page and under the under the vitals section click edit above them person's name. A popup box will appear to fill in the details of the correct name. Give the reason why this information is correct and click save. The correct surname will appear.

    If one of the words in the list is the name of one of your ancestors, post your question in the FamilySearch Community. To post a question, follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to the FamilySearch Community with your FamilySearch account
    2. At the top, click FamilySearch Help.
    3. Click Temple.
    4. Click New Post.
    5. Click Ask a Question.
    6. Enter a subject and your question. Please include details:
      1. The Family Tree ID of the person of concern
      2. The person's full name
      3. Your relationship to the person
      4. Do not include any private information such as username, helper number, or email address.
    7. Click the paperclip icon if you have documentation you want to attach.
    8. Click Ask Question to post your question.
