Unable to sign in to UK family tree/account- Account blocked because it says its Japanese??!!
For no reason this morning when trying to log in to the family tree in my account (in London, with family history all UK), I'm getting the following message:
"Account Not Authorized
FamilySearch Family Tree is accessible in Japan only to authorized FamilySearch users. Please contact FamilySearch Support at https://community.familysearch.org/ and provide your username to activate your account."
Have tried repeatedly to log in but still getting this message. Can you help please?
many thanks

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
And ...
Certainly, 'a long shot' ...
Check your "Computer"; and, make certain, that your "Region", is in the "United Kingdom"; and, NOT "Japan".
I said, it was, 'a long shot' ...
Failing that ...
Just maybe, the "Server", that you somehow finished up on/connecting through, was in/through "Japan" ...
Just a thought.

Brett, you are such a STAR!! for some reason my computer system added a VPN located in Tokyo (?!) this morning, (the things it gets up to when I'm not looking!) - hence of course the problem in logging in. Really do appreciate your input as wouldn't otherwise have thought to check this!
with best wishes

'No', just someone who has been around for a while.
And, when we Travelled the World, a couple of Years back, we experienced problems/issues such as that.
[ Especially, when moving between different, Countries; and, 'Time Zones' ... ]
Plus, I could NOT access, "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', when we were in Japan.
[ But, initially, I did not know the requirement for "Authorisation"; UNTIL, just as we were leaving Japan ... ]
I am just glad, that I was able to provide something, that was able to help/assist you.
That is what this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was originally established for, all those Years ago.
Users/Patrons, HELPING / ASSISTING, Users/Patrons ...
So glad it worked.
Brett
ps: It really was a 'long shot' ... but, 'tinged', with some experience ...
