UK, England, Diocese of Blackburn—Church of England Parish Registers, 1813–2021 [Part D]
Document contains given name of children and parents, then surname of parents.
Directions say if the surname is not given for the child to use Ctrl-B, but the surname is given for the father and the mother. Indexer did not enter the surname of the parents, although it seems to me that the intent is clear: the child is shown with his or her parents and should have the same surname.

The Batch ID would not allow me to open the record. If the directions say if no last name is listed to leave it Blank, then it should be left blank, we can not assume the last name is the same.

I can't open the batch either - must have been submitted? The example for baptisms in the project instructions is clear. When there is no surname listed for the child, but, there is a surname with the parents information, both the parents have the surname indexed.

Obviously the parents surnames would be indexed if they are given. They are also indexed for the father if the child's surname is given per instructions. The question is: If the child's surname is not given do we index the father's surname when the instructions say "Do not use the surname from any other person on the document. As a reviewer of thousands of records, half index the fathers name and half do not. Please spell out the correct instructions

@CampbellNonavee Hi. It really depends on the project instructions and the field helps which vary for each project. That is why we have to read them in detail for every project we work on. They even change the instructions depending on the Part. This thread is from 2022, so you can't really use it to determine what is correct.
If your question/comment pertains to a current project, please share the project title and share a batch that would have the instructions.
