Not sure how to do work for son's great-grandfather.
Hello! My son and I were close to his great-grandfather, who passed away a few years ago. We are wanting to do his work, but have run into a problem. But son has since been adopted by my current husband and this grandfather isn't on the family tree. It isn't letting us request permission to do grandfather's temple work. Does he need to be connected? We have permission from grandmother. I don't want to add him as a random person on my tree - making it incorrect - nor will I add my son's biological parent, as he has been adopted and sealed to my husband and I. Please help!

Thank you for your question in the Community about the great-grandfather. Are you saying the great-grandfather does not have a record in Family Tree? You cannot request ordinances for individuals who are not in Family Tree. If the guest does not add the grandfather, ordinances cannot be requested, because there won't be an ID number to work from.
You say you have permission from his spouse, correct. You may be able to request the ordinance for him as a friend. Click on the article link for information on how to do that. https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-request-proxy-temple-ordinances-for-a-friend
We hope this helps.
