Zbinden Family
I would appreciate a translation of this baptism entry of Johannes Zbinden, LLMK-MSC, born 3 February 1817 in Wahlern. Recorded in the Wahlern parish records Image 75 of Taufen 1753-1850I believe he has been placed in FamilySearch with the wrong mother. I would appreciate all information on this page, including the added notes to the side. Thanks so much! Sharon

So does this record show that Joseph Zbinden, the son of Peter Zbinden from Violenhubel and Anna Buhlman, daughter of Joseph from Brullen, had a son Johannes, baptized 3 February 1817. The father, Johannes had three siblings, Hans (from Rueggisbeg), Ulrich from Vogelstand and Katharina from Violenhubel. Then Johannes, Joseph and Anna Buhmann were missing 28 October 1882. I have other records that show Joseph Zbinden married an Anna Rumpf and had a family of 11 other children. Was it only JOhannes Zbinden that died on 28 October 1882? Thanks for your help.

Your interpretation of the baptismal record itself is correct - not your first interpretation of the note on the right. Only Johannes (the one born 1817) was declared missing (not known when he died) in 1882. His parents are only mentioned as additional identification - with Johannes being such a common name.
Consequently it is quite possible the Joseph (the father) married later an Anna Rumpf and had a large family.
