What is the current policy / status on creation of new Community subject groups?

who to contact? what to process to follow?

I would like to propose the creation of a GROUP specific to

CARIBBEAN FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH

This subject just doesn't get covered by other area groups.

I think it has fallen under "Latin American" research - but that's just not right

so much of the Caribbean is NOT LATIN America.

Id be happy to help admin the group,

There is a FamilySearch Facebook Group for the Caribbean according to this FS Wiki page https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/FamilySearch_Genealogy_Research_Groups

Perhaps FS feels everyone is on Facebook these days.

    thats an interesting find . . .

so is someone from FS actually admin-ing that face book page?

where in community (outside of the RS wiki) is there any indication this Facebook group exists?

why does it seem like we have different groups operating in silos as if the other didnt exist?

shouldn't there at least be some link in the MAIN Community letting people know this group exists (assuming it is a legit group - which makes me wonder if it is)
