Can we request a redo of an indexing project?
The first book of baptisms of Coamo index is not as good as it can be, and I think indexing this book properly would be really helpful for many descendants of these people. Is it possible to request a do-over for this?
I personally have never heard of this happening, but if enough people request it and family search sees the need, It could be possible maybe.0
Thank you for your concern of the indexed records not being as complete as possible or maybe errors. Once a project has gone through indexing and reviewing process it is then approved to be put out to the public. FamilySearch doesn't make the rules to the indexing of the project. It comes from the owners of the project. So the short answer would be that we would be unable to request that the project be reindexed as it has probably been determined that there is enough information to guide researchers to the information. Below is an explanation of what you may be referring to and also another article URL for correcting mistakes.

Two factors determine what information is indexed from a document:
- The contract with the record custodian.
- The plans for the index.
The FamilySearch project manager and the record custodians of documents not owned by FamilySearch work to determine what information is to be indexed.
Some documents are so detailed that it would take too long to index all of the information they contain. Keep in mind that indexes are not meant to be all inclusive. The goal of indexing it to create something that ultimately leads researchers to the original document where they can view it in its entirety.0
