Lincolnshire parishes confusion Swinstead/Swineshead
In the drop-down list of parishes for Lincolnshire(UK Marriage Bonds and Allegations) indexers can find Swinstead but not Swineshead. They are two different places. Unfortunately some indexers are using the wrong name because the other name doesn't appear. They are probably assuming that it is an older version of the same name because this often happens in some places. Can Swineshead be added to the list?

The best place to make these reports is the "Places" group at https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/68-familysearch-places. Reports seem to be noted and addressed fairly quickly when you do this. You probably have to "join" the Places group first, but this is quite straightforward.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
That is ODD ...
OR, am I missing something ...
As, unless, the "Place Names" Database, DOES NOT, associate with the "Indexing" Part, of 'FamilySearch' ...
https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?pagenum=1&pagesize=20
There are ALREADY Two (x2) references for "Swineshead", in Lincolnshire, England ...
Swineshead, Lincolnshire, England
https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?focusedId=10604750
And,
Swineshead, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom
https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?focusedId=2974315
Plus, they DO NOT seem to be recent additions ...
Just my thoughts.

Hi Brett, I agree with you that there is a place referred to as Swineshead in your URL references. What @ Margaret R Hall is referring to is the popdown box when recording the parish of Swineshead , when Indexing, only give suggestions for Swinderby,Swinhope and Swinstead. So that guests are referencing Swinstead instead of Swineshead. @MargaretR Hall is asking that this name be used also in addition to avoid choosing the wrong place.
Thank you Brett for all of the contributions that you make in FamilySearch Community.
Compliments of the Season to you and yours.

FYI
'Thank You', for your response.
Just in passing ...
So ...
That Said ...
Indicating, that Swineshead, ALREADY existed; as, a 'Place', in the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch', would have certainly been less confusing ...
Now ...
That Said ...
That is certainly rather (in fact, "Very") ... CONCERNING ...
ie.
A legitimate 'Place', recorded in the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch', NOT associating with, the "Indexing" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
I wonder, if there is a 'lag' time, in "Synchronization", between, the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch'; and, the "Indexing" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
IF, such is NOT the case; THEN, how MANY Other, legitimate 'Places', recorded in the "Place Names" Database, in 'FamilySearch', are NOT being associated with, the "Indexing" Part, of 'FamilySearch'?
Hm ...
Just my thoughts.
Brett
All the best for, Christmas; and, the New Year, to you too ...
