I know the 1950 Census will be released 4/1/22 but can anyone tell me when Family Search will have them ready for us to start indexing them?

I don't believe FamilySearch has announced when and even if the 1950 US Federal Census will be indexed through the FamilySearch Indexing Program.

FamilySearch is not indexing it. Instead we will review and improve an automated index, created by Ancestry using handwriting recognition technology. See FAQ page below for more information and how you can participate.

Name recognition review has already started for two states.
