Merging two duplicate persons - one is confidential

L52J-Q4K is an individual labeled as "confidential" . He has some of his ordinance work completed.

G7P9-LG2 is a duplicate to above but is not confidential and has no ordinance work recorded. How do I merge the two individuals so that I can avoid duplication of temple work?

I looked for both of the individuals and can find only G7P9-LG2. The other does not exist and seems to have been removed. All ordinances for G7P9-LG2 can be requested.

Can you still see L52J-Q4K? Or did he really vanish? You might want to post a screen shot of just the part of his header that includes his name and ID number to prove he really exists since apparently even a moderator cannot see that record.

But to answer your question, you cannot merge a Private individual that only you can see, whether Living or Confidential, with a deceased person that everyone can see.

Looking at G7P9-LG2 I certainly don't see anything that could make him confidential. If information on him is identical to the information on L52J-Q4K, then there must be some kind of a glitch that made him confidential. I suspect the only way to get that fixed is to get your problem moved to someone in support that can see his record and fix it.

However, if there is more information on L52J-Q4K, some piece of it may be causing the flag. First thing to check is the standardization of all place names. A quick way to do this is look at his time line map. Are all the markers where they should be? Is there one in a completely unexpected country?

What I don't know, is if you remove information from a record that is triggering the confidential flag whether or not the flag vanishes automatically or if it is once set, only support can remove it.

Yes I can still see L52J-Q4K. I posted a screenshot in the original message. Family Search made him confidential so I guess I'm the only one who can see him. Thanks for your suggestions. In this case, those "fixes" didn't seem to work.

Since there is already one moderator involved in this post, you might want to direct message her and ask her to escalate this problem to someone who can either fix it or explain what is going on.
