Where are Jane Brooke's temple ordinances?

Yet, again, I had to put a family back together. I found the father and their children all disconnected. I was unable to find the wife/mother. All of them have their temple ordinances still intact except for Mrs. Jane Brooke GD44-LWP who I had to add. Her husband is John Brooke MYTS-JC2. See their ordinances below:

John Brooke Baptized 28 Feb 1958 / Endowed 21 Aug 1958 / Sealed to his wife 14 Nov 1958 Salt Lake Temple

Jane or Mrs. Jane Brooke Baptized 27 Feb 1958 / Endowed 24 Jun 1958 / same sealing date

Thank you for your help in this matter.

Hi Jeana Thanks for visiting Family Search Community and posting your question. We have reviewed the records you indicate. In cases such as this, it is often useful to find the original family tree records. For example you are looking for the original record for the mother, Mrs Jane Brooke. One way to find this is to bring up the person page for one of the children. For example, Betty Brooke, KHJ6-9XL. Go the the Latest Changes and show all. Then scroll clear to the bottom. There you will see that the original record of the mother when this family was brought into Family tree is Jane K45X-GLS. Now that record has been deleted but you can follow the history and find that through several merges the record is now GSSL-YLR which is where the ordinances are for your Mrs Jane Brooke. If the merges along the way have been inappropriate, then you should restore the record(s) the have been improperly merged to get to a record you want to use for Mrs Jane Brooke with the appropriate ordinances. Here is a link for information about restoring records.

Thank you for taking the time to explain about finding individual records and restoring records. I am familiar with both of those. I went down the same road that you said and found Jane Nichols GSSL-YLR before I posted my question. The main problem with her individual record was it was created in 2019 by someone. Jane, the wife of John Brooke MYTS-JC2, would have been a record created by FamilySearch in 2012-2014. This is because her temple work was done in the 1950's and would have been part of the IGI and grandfathered in to FamilySearch FamilyTree. Thank you for finding Jane K45X-GLS! I am positive this is the individual record that I was searching. I successfully restored her and her individual ordinances did follow. For some reason, her sealing to spouse is still not there. John and Jane were sealed on 14 Nov 1958 in Salt Lake. How do I get her sealing to spouse reconnected? Thanks again!

Hi Jeana Glad you were successful finding that record. I suspect a similar thing happened to the husband/father. Again, if you go the record of the daughter Betty Brooke (KHJ6-9XL) scroll to the bottom of the changes where we found the record for the mother, you will note that the father (KNQH-DVK) listed there is also deleted. If you follow the history of that record you will see that it was merged with record KWJX-9L8 and showing as the husband of Sarah Ann Broadbent (KWJX-9LD). So I suspect the merge between record KNQH-DVK and KWJX-9L8 was an inappropriate merge and you should consider restoring record KNQH-DVK. I think you will find the temple ordinances there. This idea of going to one of the children to find the right parents is really useful. It is not always successful as in this case but more often that not, is successful. Sometimes you can do the same things with the parents of the individual. In this case, I am not sure we know the parents of John Brooke. Another indication that something is not right are differences in the PIDs. For example, right now you have the PID of John Brooke as MYTS-JC2 and of Jane as K45X-GLS. Usually records of husband and wives are similar especially with the starting letter. Not always the case but is a clue. The other thing is if you look at the history of John Brooke (MYTS-JC2) you will see that record has never been merge and only married to record GD44-LWP meaning it probable didn't ever have the sealing to spouse ordinances. Not sure where the other ordinances came from unless somebody had them added. In any case, I suspect if you restore record KNQH-DVK you will find what you need. These cases where many merges have been done are a real challenge. In some cases, I have restored all the merges and then carefully merged the appropriate records.
