The ruler in indexing would be much more helpful if it could be made different thickness - or better
Right now it sometimes cover up to two of the lines that are being worked on. This makes determining "which" line of data is the correct one.
The yellow highlight ruler also obscures like a thin haze, the data being worked on. A thin red line would be easier to keep the data line distinct.

I agree that it would be better to be adjustable in size. You can adjust the transparency by going to Settings under Batch. That makes it easier to see through. I usually place my ruler below the line I am working on and don't have issues trying to figure which line in the ruler should be used. It also avoids needing to read through the haze.

@BiehnCarl - If you're using Windows, then a free alternative to the Web Indexing built-in ruler/reading guide that can do what you want is "A Ruler for Windows." You can adjust the thickness of its Ruler (using Page Up and Page Down keys) and various other attributes (including length, transparency, etc.). I created a Red "skin" and made the Ruler very thin and opaque - just what you described.
Here is a link to the author's website that includes a video that explains its many features. I've been using it for almost a decade. Unlike the built-in Ruler, "A Ruler for Windows" stays fixed on the screen instead of stuck to the image. I use it by moving the image behind the Ruler, but you can move it over the image if you wish.
