How to add a family where the first child has an unknown father

My great grandfather, Walter Carlton Smith, LY6W-GRT, was illegiimate - born 28 July 1842, son of 'Elizabeth Carlton, single woman'. Elizabeth married John Smith 2 years later, 29 Dec 1864

The 8 children following Walter are all children of John Smith & Elizabeth Carlton (as far as I can tell)

How do I indicate that the first child has no known father, but the remainder of the children in the family have a father?
