I noticed that there is a completely different family on my tree. Same family name but different people. I'm not good at all in fixing this and wondered if anyone could help me.

Here is what I do, but I have a tendency to be cautious. If it is a part of the tree that is not direct to me or I really haven't done a lot of research on, I leave all the wrong people there, but I make sure the correct spouse/parents/children are clicked as preferred. Now, if it is someone who is a direct ancestor, AND I have done a lot of research on them and have collected many sources myself, I will proceed differently. I contact the person who created the wrong people, and let them know AS POLITELY AS POSSIBLE that their work is not quite right, and I am willing to fix it for them. I research who I think they SHOULD be updating with their info, and include that in my message. I have never had anyone say no, or ever had a cat fight erupt and have also never have the "I can out switch you" contest that so many people seem to complain about. It is work and trouble, but it is very low on the stress and angst. Good luck.
