Can't share names on My Temple Reservation with the Temple

I have tried to share ordinances from my My Reservations list.

I have tried these two ancestors as an example:

Elmer Ellsworth Chamberlain

GC53-6T7

Johann Georg Kuhni

G3VM-QHH

I have many more but in attempting to share these names with the temple, the word SHARE is grayed out, and I cannot share with the temple.

I have 2,546 names on My Reservations list and have not shared very many of these names with the temple, yet I cannot share them with the temple now to reduce my list of names.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

Short Answer: NOW this is a LIMIT of ONLY x300 "Reservations", for our "Reservations" List.

Once, you are at; and/or, reach, that LIMIT of x300, you CANNOT "Reserve", any MORE Work, until your "List" falls BELOW the x300.

Here are some Articles that details the NEW "Reservations" x300 LIMIT (Policy) ...

I now that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope that this gives you some, insight; and, perspective.

Right. I have read the articles and reviewed them with a FamilySearch Help Line person tonight.

I would like to see the policy change regarding not being able to share an ordinance with the temple that has previously been shared (even with the temple).

They will be discussing it in their group meeting tomorrow, and perhaps the subject will trickle up to headquarters of FamilySearch.

    Thank you,

Of course you can't share your two examples with the temple! They are both 90 day reservations. They are already shared with the temple. You just borrowed them off the shared temple list to get them completed within 90 days. If you can't do this or want to reserve other names, all you need to do is un-reserve them and let them go back to the where they were on the shared temple list.

    @John Moss

The reason you cannot share a name with the temple that has already been shared with the temple is that it is already shared with the temple.

Your example above with Elmer - the ordinance was already shared with the temple list in 2016. You have reserved it recently with a 90-day completion date attached to it - with the intent of completing the ordinance quicker than it's current place in line in the shared with temple list. When you release it, it goes back to its place in line in the shared temple list with a 2016 date - 5 years ahead of if you were to share it to the temple today.

When the temples start pulling from the central shared list (instead of district assignment), that 2016 ordinance would be 5 years ahead of what you are wanting to do with it now by trying to share it again today.

Many of us feel the same ...

Hopefully, 'FamilySearch' (ie. the Church), may reconsider, allowing such to happen ...

Currently, the Problem/Issue being, is that the ONLY "Option" is to "Unreserve" ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

Therein, lies, the even "Bigger" Problem/Issue, in that you can then, NO LONGER, "Reserve"; and, subsequently, "Share", with either, (1) Family/Friends; and/or, (2) the "Temple System"; as, one's "Reservations" List is STILL above the x300 LIMIT.

I understand, that 'FamilySearch' (and, the Church) is trying to "Resolve" ONE particular problem/issue, in this case, the Users/Patrons, with way to extensive "Reservations" List (ie. in the MANY THOUSANDS); basically, "Hoarding", the "Temple"Work, at the expense and detriment of OTHER situations/circumstances; which, unfortunately, get 'caught' in the 'cross-fire'; and, become 'Collateral' casualties .

    Again ...

Many of us understand you concern.

I have decided to Unreserve all those ordinances on My Reservations pages and then to only reserve ordinances that have not previously been shared with the temple. At that point I will share those ordinances with the temple.
