Is there a way to speed up completion of ordinances shared with the temple?
Is there any way to shorten the time it takes for ordinances shared with the temple to be completed?
I currently have a little over 1200 reservations shared with the temple with many going back 5 years and most at least 3 years. (While the temples being closed impacted this many of the names were reserved in 2016, 2017, and 2018, so the issue has been the same for years).
As a first generation convert (along with a brother and sister), I have no cousins, Aunts, Uncles, parents etc to help do names. I do have a few children and nieces and nephews to help but not many. It is also very rare that other members of the church are from the same lines.
So, I don’t have concerns with the new 300 line limit - there’s more than I can do in a timely manner anyway. But I would love any ideas for how to get shared temple names done faster than 5+ years.
thank you

Other than to be assured that in the view of eternity 5+ years is a blink of the eye, that you have done all that you can do, that the ordinances will be done eventually, and that your ancestors will not miss out on any blessings as long as you continue to do all you can (keeping in mind the counsel of D&C 10:4 to “Do not run faster or labor more than you have strength and means provided."), not that I know of besides encouraging your elder's quorum and ward members to get to the temple more often.

Understandably frustrating. It's kind of unfair; living in a busy Utah temple district, I have had B, C, and I done within a matter of months. I have heard that FamilySearch may just create a global temple list - this should speed things up for people like you who don't live in a busy temple district by giving names priority by share date only without regard to temple district.

Hello @Dave Kane
When names are shared with the temple a lot of times they do take years to complete. Also, names that have been shared with the temple can be reserved by other family members (usually distantly related). When someone else reserves some of the ordinances that you have shared with the temple, they have 90 days to complete the ordinances that have been reserved. If the ordinances are not completed within 90 days the ordinances will go back into your reservations list so that someone else can reserve them if they so desire.
We have included the help article that explains what happens to your names when you share them with the temple.
We hope that this information is helpful.
