I supposedly have 17 Discussions but can't see anything. When I click on My Discussions it just brings up a blank page

    @Julie Diehl

    Have you verified that you are logged in to community? Your Discussions will not show unless you are signed in.

    You may need to clear cookies, make sure that your browser is up to date and you could try another browser.

    I will put links to those help articles here: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-delete-all-of-the-cookies-and-temporary-files-stored-by-my-internet-browser

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/which-internet-browsers-are-compatible Notice that on the supported browsers you need to be on the most current or previous version.

    Regardless of the operating system you use, our website works with these fully supported browsers:

    • Apple Safari—the current version and one previous
    • Google Chrome—the current version and one previous
    • Microsoft Edge—the current version and one previous
    • Mozilla Firefox—the current version and one previous

    I suggest that you clear cookies at least once a week and make sure that your browser is up to date every 2 weeks.

    Also, make sure that your Operating System Windows or Mac are up to date.

    Hopefully one of these suggestions will help.

    Please respond back if you need further help.

    Thank you for contacting FamilySearch. It has been a pleasure helping you. Best wishes as you continue finding records for your family.

    Depending on the size of your browser window, you may need to scroll down to the very bottom of your profile page to see your discussions.

    Mine says 30, but it's only willing to show me 9 or 26, depending on how I ask.

    If I click "My Discussions", either on the drop-down from my profile picture at the top right, or under Quick Links, then it shows me 9 discussions.

    If I click my profile picture at the top right and choose my name to go to my profile page, then there is a "Discussions" link at the right. Clicking that shows me 7 discussions, but this time there's a "More Discussions" link at the bottom. Clicking that gives me ten more, with another link; clicking it gives me nine more and no link, for a total of 26.

    I just tried your profile page: I right-clicked your name and told it to open in a new tab. On that tab, I clicked "Discussions" (which now says 18), and scrolled down; there was a list of ten discussions, and a "More" link at the bottom. Clicking that added eight more discussions, with no link. I'm curious to know whether it shows the same thing to you.

    Thank you for your reply. I did find my profile, but cannot open my discussion. Maybe someone is looking at it.

    I have witnessed many discussions get deleted. Even some of my own got deleted. When that happens, often the discussions count does not get reset. Ditto for comments and comment counts, also Spam and Abuse counts.

    @Julie Diehl - Are you still unable to see your discussions and comments? When I look at your profile, I can bring them up. I even counted them to make sure they were all there. If you can't, would you be happy to share your operating system and browser information? Thanks!

    @P4@b@ - When I look at your profile, I can see you should have a discussion but, like you, I can't find it. I do see your comments. Do you remember where the thread you started might be? If you can find it, would you copy and paste that link here? In addition, would you please share your operating system and browser information also?

    I suspect this is some kind of bug with the community platform, but I haven't been able to pin down enough information to make a useful report.

    Best,

    Piper

    @dontiknowyou

    Thank you for for checking on this. I have saved the link to the discussion I was looking for. It does not seem there is a simple way to find it. I did however find it by Googling my name, as it was mentioned in the discussion.

    I'm having the same issue. Clearing cache and cookies didn't help. This is what I see when I click on My Discussions:

    image.png

    I got this result with Chrome even after clearing cache and cookies, so then I tried Firefox. Same result.

    Any suggestions?

    @kathryngz, here's what I see if I open your profile and click Discussions in the right-hand column:

    image.png

    You may be able to get it to display either this same thing, or possibly some more recent activity, by clicking the profile icon thingy at the top right (yours is blue), then clicking your name in the resulting drop-down, and then clicking "Discussions" in the right-hand column.

    There is definitely something wrong with this forum's ability to display discussions started by a particular person. I've supposedly started 32, but the "My Discussions" link is only willing to show me 10 of them, and my profile's "Discussions" link only has 28.

    I think this is related. Does anyone else show bookmarked threads that don't seem to exist?

    @PiperWilson

    Piper

    Just in passing ...

    As an aside ...

    You possibly aware ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

    Just to be sure ...

    There are BOTH, "Posts"; and, "Comments", that have been either,

    (1) "Deleted" by the actual poster; and/or,

    (2) those that have been "Deleted"/"Hidden", by "Administration" (and, also, "Moderators").

    .... [ As, the have been considered, to "Breach", the "Code of Conduct" ... ]

    Such , "Posts"; and, "Comments", will NOT appear; but, they will STILL, be included in one's "Count", for one's, "Records" (ie. "Posts"; and, "Comments" ); and, "Bookmarks", although they CANNOT be 'seen' (or, NO LONGER exist).

    Just my thoughts.

    Brett

    ps: I just checked (My) https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussions/bookmarked

    And, it is NOT "Blank" ...

    Plus, I checked in the "Browsers" of, 'Google' "Chrome"; 'Mozilla' "FireFox'; and, 'Microsoft' "Edge", with the "Operating System" of 'Microsoft" "Windows 10", all with the LATEST versions - all good.

    @Brett . - From my experience, when a discussion or comment is deleted, they are removed from a members' counts.

    Thank you for checking your bookmarks!

    @PiperWilson

    Piper

    UNLESS something has "Changed", of late ...

    As as far as I am ware ...

    "Posts"; and, "Comments", that have been either,

    (1) "Deleted" by the actual poster; and/or,

    (2) those that have been "Deleted"/"Hidden", by "Administration" (and, also, "Moderators").

    .... [ As, the have been considered, to "Breach", the "Code of Conduct" ... ]

    are STILL, included in one's "Count", for one's, "Records" (ie. "Posts"; and, "Comments" ); and, "Bookmarks", although they CANNOT be 'seen' (or, NO LONGER exist).

    Brett

    ps: Like MANY, my "Numbers", DO NOT equate, to what I 'see' ... ie. I 'see', LESS than the numbers suggest.

    pps: I stand corrected, if I am wrong; and, there has been a RECENT "Change", in the "Platform" ...

    @Julia Szent-Györgyi , thanks for that screenshot! I still just get a blank screen. That's really interesting that you can see my discussions but I can't :)

    @Brett , to answer your question, yes, my OS and browsers are up to date.

    This issue has been sent to our platform's support personnel. I have no idea when they will be able to respond or how long a fix will take.
