What exactly am I supposed to be writing down. Like every name or just one specific name and if so whose name do I write down.
Any help is accepted.
Records can be really confusing at first. It usually takes me several batches before I'm really comfortable with what I'm looking at. 😁
If you'd like to share the batch number, we can all look at your image and see how we can help. Here's one place you can find the share number:

Hi, Isaac John. In indexing muster rolls you will be entering every name. The only name that isn't indexed is the person creating the roll, unless that person's name is also on the roll. The examples and instructions should give you more details. They can be pulled up at any time by clicking on the last icon in the toolbar or the blue link for project instructions at the bottom of the entry form.
Some muster roll images will have a few names and others will have many names. The project is preset to 40 entries. Sometimes you will have to add more entry forms and other times you will have to delete unused entry forms to get the batch to submit.
If you are new to indexing, here is a link to a video that is a very good way to learn more about the process. The actual "lesson" begins at the 8 minute mark: Indexing Discussion (Jason Pierson Live)
Hi Isaac John.
You've done the first soldier correctly - Given Names, Surname, and Military Date, and you correctly blanked the Age and Birthplace fields. Do all the rest of the names on that image in the same way, as Melissa mentioned, and then delete the entries you don't need. Use the trashcan icon in the middle of the toolbar with the option "all blank entries" and click "Delete" to get rid of those extra entries.
That date is almost certainly the Enlistment Date for that soldier (the "gold standard" Military Date). Look at that same column heading in one of the previous reference images. Use the "open book" 4th vertical icon to show the images just before yours (-1, -2, -3, etc.). I cannot see the Reference images in a Shared Batch, but the heading should be on previous images.
None of those officers and soldiers listed on that image has age or birthplace listed, so you can speed up your indexing a bit by putting your cursor in the Age field and clicking the 6th icon from the right. This will copy that <Blank> value throughout all the Age fields in each following entry. Likewise for the Birthplace field. These <Blank>ed fields should not interfere with deleting the extra "blank" entries when you finish indexing.
I just looked at your image. Lucky you getting a typed page! Here's something that might help too:
You can access the instructions here by clicking here.
Scroll down a little ways and there are example images. I find these super helpful. Here's a link to the one that looks most like the batch you're doing:
