Indexing Tax Records: What to do with similar names but also indicate as different people.

According to the Indexing Project Instruction for "What to Remember About this Project" the following instruction is given:

"Index each unique name. Some names may be duplicated. When names are exact duplicates, index only the first instance of the name listed. Skip the other exact duplicates"

Sometimes duplicate names are shown in a batch in two ways:

1) In succession

OR

2) in multiple times, but not in succession (i.e. "Henry")

I am reviewing this batch and see that "John" is entered once, but "Henry" is entered twice.

The easiest way to determine if the name is a unique name to be indexed on it's own is to look at the questions asked in the indexing fields.. If they were both indexed would the answers all be identical? If not then they both need indexed. If they are identical in all indexing fields then they are not unique and only one needs to be indexed.
