Permission for temple ordinances

I am a ward temple and family history consultant, and would like to ask a question for a member of my ward. He would like to have the temple work done for his aunt, the wife of his blood uncle. All temple ordinances have been completed for his uncle. His uncle and aunt had one son, but no one in the family has had any contact with him for the past 30 years or knows anything about his whereabouts. They don't know of any other living relative. Is it possible for my ward member to receive permission have his aunt's temple work done?

    Hi Ann.

You could have your Ward member at least work through the request process. The request will be handled according o the guidelines for completing ordinances for those born within the last 110 years. He will need to prove that there is no other person who could do this for his aunt.

Refer to the following Knowledge Article:

    Kind heplers,

I have a question about ordinances for Poul Chor Lutzen GSQH-WVN. I had received permission to have his work done and I had printed an ordinance card for all the ordinances. When our Youths were going to do baptisms I tried to reprint a card for just baptism and Confirmation but couldn't, so I sent the original ordinance card far all ordinances with them and they did his baptism and confirmation. The old ordnance cards are no longer returned so I can't complete his work nor can not print another card because permission is required. Permission was already granted... so what can I do? I have made reservation with the temple in Copenhagen for saturday Nov. 13, and hope to be able to have more of his work done. Can you help me, please.

    @Lise Cohr

We suggest you fill out the request form again, noting that your had permission but the card you printed was used for B and C, but had all ordinances, which was not returned, and you would like to do the other 4 ordinances. When given permission use the following information so you can print single ordinances when needed.

    1. Sign into FamilySearch and click Temple.
    2. Click My Reservations.
    3. To the left of each name whose card you want to print, click the box. You can select up to 45 family names at one time. Please select an amount you can finish in a reasonable amount of time.
    4. At the top of your list, click the blue Print button.
    5. Click Print Family Name Cards.
    6. Click to uncheck the box for each ordinance that you do not want to include on the family name card.
    7. To remove contact information on cards, click Show Contact Information on Family Name Cards. The option is on by default.
    8. Click Continue.
    9. Read the instructions, and then click Continue.
    10. The system creates your family name cards and displays them as a PDF file in another tab in your browser. If the PDF does not appear, take these steps:
      • Make sure that your pop-up blocker allows pop-ups.
      • Make sure that Adobe Reader is installed on your computer.
    11. Print the family name cards using the print feature of your browser. On most browsers, click File, and then click Print.
    12. If cards did not print, check for problems:
      • Is the printer on?
      • Does the printer have paper?
      • Are the printer cables correctly secured?
      • Did you have a paper jam or other printer malfunction?
    13. A message asks you to confirm that the cards printed.
    14. If they printed, click Yes. If they did not, and you do not want to try again, click No. If you try again and still cannot get your request to print from your computer, sign out, and try again later. If your printer does not work, use a printer at the home of a friend, or at the local family history center.

Wishing you success in reserving Poul Chor Lutzen GSQH-WVN ordinances and completing them.
