Confidential Person

I am not sure why this person is listed as a Confidential Person. His spouse is my distance cousin and he married into my line. I found Elizabeth Ostby's spouse, Arthur. Added him and added all the information. The information is all standardized, birth, marriage and death. However, I am unable to share his ordinances with the temple. I do not know if he is a famous person or not or another reason why his record would be marked confidential.

Can someone please assist me? Thank you!

Arthur Lewis Lawrence - G8BZ-NPW.

Hola, si puedo ayudarle pero necesito que me proporcione mas información, ya que estoy buscando al fallecido y no aparece y el código FamilySearch que proporciona tampoco aparece.

Quedo a la espera de su respuesta.

Angela, not sure why you can't see the information. I included the reference number above. It is:G8BZ-NPW. The birth and death information are listed on his record as well. Arthur Lewis Lawrence.

Can you provide more details about what is needed? Thanks, Cindy

I have a similar issue. I created Henry Dawaliby (GXGV-8J1) and Sadie Argabey (GXGK-9QQ) who are parents of Edward Dawaliby (GXGV-JVL). The parents were both born before 1900 in Syria according to census records and they were all living in Saint Joseph, Missouri. I have no relation to anyone in this family but the two parents were automatically marked Confidential. The explanatory note says 'data administrators' will do this to protect ME but I can't understand why I would need this protection. None of the children born in Missouri were marked Confidential. I assume from the parents' place of birth that they were probably Maronite Catholics but being Catholic or being born in Syria do not seem to be sufficient reasons why I would need protection enough to hide their existence from FamilySearch.

The issue of confidential profiles comes up repeatedly on this forum. People born in certain countries (most, if not all of them, are in the Middle East) are automatically deemed confidential. I believe it relates to the fact these countries are Islamic, and has nothing to do with Catholics.
