Indexing land records

Since it lists him with a surname and given name then index it in his own entry. It would help if we could look at the batch with the Shared batch code found in brackets at the end of the project name, 7 numbers and letters starting with the letter 'M'.

Can you give us a batch number for this? We would be glad to look at it with you. The batch number is in brackets at the end of the batch name.
Also, tell us the location (ie Row number or page location of Sutton, Wife of Jacob Sutton) and we can look at it with you.
I will be watching for your response.
Thank you for helping Index. That helps so many find records about their ancestors.

The batch number is: [Part A][MS84-S7L]
It's on the first page, approximately row 43.
Hope this helps!

II would only index Elizabeth Suter in this case and drop those descriptive words about Elizabeth. Jacob is not a Grantee for this transaction; his wife Elizabeth Suter is. IMO it would be misleading to index Jacob as a Grantee. I think that "wife of Jacob" falls under the following portion of the Field Help for Grantee Given Names and Surname:
When typing the name of the grantee, do not include descriptive words or terms, such as "by Atty," "et al," or "and spouse," that may have been written with the name.
Researchers will see those descriptive words and draw their own conclusions about their meaning.

I agree with @John Empoliti. The grantee is Elizabeth Suter and the Wife of Jacob Suter is the descriptive terms for Elizabeth.
Sarah is for the entry above. Because they list the Grantee's in alphabetical columns it may be helpful to use the ruler on this project. Here is a link on how to do that. https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-use-the-ruler-while-indexing Please not that sometimes when you set up the ruler it may appear at the bottom of the image. you can make the image smaller to find the ruler and then drag it to where you need it to be. Here is another article to help you change the color and transparency of the ruler. https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-change-the-color-of-the-ruler-while-indexing
Thank you for helping Index. That helps so many find records about their ancestors.

No. We don't index a wife (or husband) unless she is specifically named. I mentioned this above for a possibly different but similar project and in a slightly different context. Some forms have the wife's name listed on the right side - sometimes the full name and sometimes GN only. In the latter case, we capture her GN but blank the SN field in her entry because we don't assume her surname from her husband's.
Below, from the What To Remember About This Project section of the Instructions for your project, is why you shouldn't create a new entry for the wife if you only see descriptors like "& wife" after a Grantor's or Grantee's name. You index the wife only if the record lists her name - at least a GN.
- When typing the name of the grantor or grantee, do not include descriptive words or terms, such as "by Atty," "et al," or "and spouse," that may have been written with the name.
