what has happened to your search facility, I'm trying to search someone in Poland and it will only let me find people in USA despite me putting Poland in every location, it is beyond useless now

I picked a surname at random, checked "Exact" box for it - and Poland. As you can see - 27 results, all of which include "Poland".
You just have to check the "Exact" boxes and, sometimes need to filter on "Type" or "Collection".
On he other hand, if you are trying to FIND individuals, using that function in Family Tree - no, this does not work. This has received numerous complaints on this forum, so hopefully the engineers are working to fix it. To my knowledge it never did produce "exact" results.

@Carol Thompson_4 If you only want records from Poland but still want to search from the main search page, the most efficient thing to do open the More Options section and put in Poland as Location. It is also generally worthwhile to put in a type of record to further limit the search unless you want to include people with the location of Poland anywhere in their record, such as a census record where a parent was born in Poland:

The other very efficient option is to use the Search by Location option:
This allows you to search just the very few record collections from Poland:
Often times when the main search page seems to be less than helpful, it is because it is actually trying to be too helpful. When it cannot find any records for you, if usually throws in a few million "close" records.
If you describe exactly the search you are trying to make, I may be able to give suggestions as to how to get the results you expect or explain why you are getting the results you are.
