Records for all deceased members of church show up in FamilySearch as soon as their death date is recorded BY THEIR WARD CLERK. I emphasize that last part.
The Ward Clerk is vital. A family member reporting the death of the person, TO THAT PERSON'S Ward Clerk is the way it needs to be done and probably will need to death certificate to the Ward Clerk to show proof of death, the date and the place.
A Ward Clerk adding the person's death date into the membership record of a member of the church, causes the facts from that person's membership record to be displayed and part of the membership record is the baptism etc dates and all temple work dates.
Family members who have created a record in FamilySearch themselves and added the date of death reveal the ordinance dates for the person who had those ordinances performed as living ordinances.

@Gail Clarke Hellings , Yes ordinances are associated with the membership record PID. @Trevan Richins states that the other ordinances are showing correctly, therefore the DOD has been recorded on the membership record already. Trevan can you post the relative's PID so we can look at it? When you go to that relative's detail page and click Ordinances, does it really say they need the SP done or does it say that that ordinance can't be displayed?

The PID is LN8Y-44F. For the SP, it says that I need to "Request Permission". His parents have all of their ordinances correctly displayed and their sealing to each other was years before he was born so he should be born in the covenant. Maybe his church record was incorrect?

@Trevan Richins , looks like there is something wrong. The parents were sealed prior to Clyde's birth. So we need a MOD to transfer your post to a team that can help. Interesting to note that the sibling Gilbert b1920 shows correctly, "This person was born in the covenant..." but the sibling Lois b 1923 does not show BIC but that the SP was done in 2015. So Lois' case is similar to Clyde's except that proxy work was done. So you might want to pursue Lois' issue also, there could be some common reason for both problems?

Attn MOD, this post needs to be moved to the Temple category or to a specialty team.

I have a brother in law who shows that he has not been sealed to his parents but should be BIC. Parent is Delbert Kirby PID KWCP-6GW. Son is Robert Lynn Kirby PID LNZP-D3R. Parents were sealed in the temple in 1921, Robert was born 1932.

@ShelbyMarcum75 , you should probably post this specific issue you have under the "Temple" Category rather than the "FamilySearch Community" Category. That's a similar issue @Trevan Richins is having. Trying to get someone's attention to move Trevan's post to the Temple Category also.

@CJTobler , @ShelbyMarcum75 stated a similar issue in her comment. Don't know if you can separate her comment from Trevan's post?
