Could I please have my son's church and temple ordinances reinstated?
I don't know who will receive this letter but Greetings to that individual. I am Leonard's mother and am a devoted member of our Savior's Church and have not felt comfortable about what has happened to my son's records since I first read them. I have always felt that no matter life's challenges, we as a family wanted to be together forever. There have been a number of challenges and deaths in our family but i know the Lord watches over me and helps me do my best. But I leave the decision that will be made in your hands and will not question it.
I am asking this question for my son, Leonard Owen Shackelford. He was born December 1, 1969 and died Jan 4, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia, I believe.
He was born into the sealed couple of Bobby Wayne Shackelford, who is deceased and his mother, Kaye L. Shackelford who is writing this letter.
I wish to be as fair as I know how to be concerning the state of his records at this time. I do not know if he knew they were changed or if it happened with his knowing about it. Up until his marriage in the temple he, I thought loved the Gospel and the Church and our family without question or reserve. Of the wife and children I am unaware, not having communication with them which I would have desired, for a long number of years.
Please may I make a rather difficult statement? Len's wife would be, I think outraged if she knew Leonard's church blessings were restored (depending on your decision). I would like to ask for forgiveness if I am amiss, but if Len's records could be restored, if they could, somehow be done so in Private? I am sorry if this is inappropriate or unworthy on my part to ask,
Thank you for your time and thoughts on this sacred matter, I am so grateful for for the opportunity to ask. Most Sincerely, Kaye L. Shackelford
